Chef Sonya Dorsey was raised in Shreveport Louisiana, trained in Baking and Culinary Arts starting at the age of 6. At the age of 9 Chef Dorsey was working back of the house at her grandmother’s restaurant “The Knights Inn” located in Shreveport. With a long history of cooking and baking Chef Dorsey has used the skills she learned to create not only an amazing Catering experience, she makes Designer cakes, as well has created a Spice, seasoning and sauce line with the Skills she has learned over the years. Chef Dorsey is a Le Cordon Bleu graduate obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Baking/Patisserie & Culinary Arts, and has over 30 yrs experience in the culinary field, professional, personal, and formal. Chef Dorsey taught Culinary Arts at Citysquare’s Food Service and Hospitality Program for 2 years as well.
Sonya Dorsey is an Executive Chef who runs 2 successful businesses, Definitely Dorsey Designer Cakes & Catering, and Saucy Sonya’s Spices & Sauces. Chef Dorsey has ventured into Consulting, she mentors other Entrepreneurs and helps develop cottage businesses, by giving them the knowledge they need to pursue business in the culinary industry.
